Depressed

I'm sure you've all heard this in a drug commercial -

"If depression or thoughts of suicide occur please consult your doctor immediately."

Our girls were spayed last week and some pain medicine was sent home with them after the surgery.

The instructions say to watch for several side effects. One of them is depression.

Now I love my dogs a lot. But Jon and I have gotten quite a few laughs from the thought of a suicidal dog.

How would a dog even go about such a thing?

And how in the world am I supposed to tell if a Basset is depressed?
