Christine Update

Christine’s Surgery Report 3

The OR Nurse just called and said that the tumor is removed and they are starting to close up now. That should take about an hour and then it will take longer for her to wake up. But everything is going well. The OB has not come back in again yet but will do a post Op before she leaves the Operating Room.

She will “come to” in the OR where they will ask here to do some simple procedures to check her motor skills and speech ability. Then she will go directly to ICU for recovery. We will be able to see her in ICU. She will be there overnight and then if everything is going well good they will transfer her to the Neurology floor (7SW) where we previously were but in a different room. This time the room will most likely be a two patient room so someone will not be able to stay with her. They will try to give her a single occupancy room if it is available. The first room we were in was a private “sleep study” room which was really set up. We were very fortunate. Someone could stay with her each night. I stayed with her last night thought it was a fairly sleepless night for both of us. The strangest thing happened at 11:21 pm. Suddenly the light above the bed just came on without us doing anything. We couldn’t turn it off so we called the nurse. She couldn’t figure it out either so she called “Plant Services” who came in about 10 minutes but couldn’t figure it out so he took out the bulb.

Two more promises to claim: “Hide Christine under the shadow of thy wings!”

Ps 17:6-8 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, [and hear] my speech. Show thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust [in thee] from those that rise up [against them]. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings.”

Ps 36:7,9,10 How excellent [is] thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings… For with thee [is] the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

Keep Praying and keep sending your notes to her. She will love reading them as she recovers.
