Photo A Day

Several years ago I stumbled on a blog that had prompts for pictures to take every day. The idea was to inspire photographers to get out there with their camera every day. Her blog and idea soon went viral. She even has an app for the Photo A Day now. I was faithfully following and taking the pictures and then life got a bit out of control. Since the prompts are by the week on my app, I thought I'd jump in this week and see if I could get back into the rhythm again. Check out her blog here.

Sunday - Egg

 Monday - Shape

Sadly, laundry was the most exciting thing happening at 4pm.

Photography Challenge Day 1

Begins with J

I'm a little bit behind on this. When did May start and how did I miss this. My mind is still firmly in April. But sadly 4 days into the month I noticed. So I figured I'd start now and play a little catch up with the days I am behind.

And then my mind went blank. So I turned to my son and asked him what I should do with the prompt. The pictures below were his response.
Jump!
What in the world would I do without this kid?!

Photo Challenge

Day 4 - Tiny
A tiny little bell on my snowman basket.

Day 5 - In the Cupboard
Snacks for the kids

 Day 6 - Shadow

Day 7 - 6 o'clock
My alarm went off to remind me to snap a photo at 6pm. So I just got up and took this picture of my kids and a dear friend. Nothing glamorous, but definitely a picture I'll treasure.

Photo Challenge

I failed rather miserably last month with the photo challenge. Life just got too crazy. So this month I figured I'd be taking tons of pictures because I'm a bit fond of Christmas. So I might was well add the photo challenge ones to the mix. But what I didn't factor in was the time to post them to the blog. So far I've taken the pictures every day. But it is the 7th and I've yet to post one on here. So I'm going to post several per blog post and try to catch up.

Day 1 - Red

Day 2 - Where I Stood

Day 3 - Silver
This would probably be closer to grey, but we've had quite a few silvery, grey days lately so I thought it fit well with the prompt.

Photo A Day Challenge Day 8

Someone I miss
I miss this little bugger when he's in school.
I'm not in the mood to be sad. So I went with something more upbeat for this one.

Photo A Day Challenge Day 7

Yes!
It is most definitely fall.
I really had a hard time with this one. Nothing inspired me with a resounding yes. It was a great day. I spent most of it with some friends. I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time. It was so fun and therapeutic. But not really photo opish. (I know, I know. Not a word.)

The afternoon after picking up my son was spent doing household chores and listening to my son play the piano. Later his friends came over and destroyed something relating to Star Wars. The sounds were amusing, but I don't have permission to share pictures of some of the boys on my blog.

So I thought about something that was a definite yes. I came up with this. Cool picture, though.

Photo A Day Challenge Day 5

I collect. . .
Lots and lots of things. I was able to combine two things I collect in one picture. My books and my elephants.

Table
This picture is from my buffet table. Every year when the sparkling juice ("wine") goes on sale, I stock up. Because sometimes I can't even find it during the year. And we love using this for special occasions.

Photo A Day Challenge Day 3

P is for. . .
The PERFECT sandwich! It was filled with cheese and guacamole goodness and even came with a rainbow. =)

I did this today. . .
I spent the day with my husband. It was amazing and just the vacation I needed.

Photo A Day Challenge Day 1

Fruit
My kids would eat a ton of these every day. But I will only eat them when they are greenish yellow. But I don't mind the speckles (the few times we see them, since they usually disappear before this). Speckles mean frozen bananas, banana bread, and smoothies.

Photography Challenge

Each month I eagerly look up the new photography challenge. And I mark my calendar so I can be sure to take the correct photo. I've been doing this for over a year. Quite often I reach the end of the month and have completed the challenges, but usually I start missing days about half way through the month. Another part of the challenge for me is putting those photographs on my blog and sharing them on the fms facebook page. So far I've only completed one month. So this month I hope to make it to the end. I thought I'd post the challenge here and ask for suggestions. The prompts are open to individual interpretation. The whole point is to get the camera out each day and just have fun. But I also enjoy the mental and photography challenges that come with these prompts.

So please shoot me a message or leave a comment if something pops into your mind when you read one or more of these prompts. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Photo A Day Challenge Day 1

Together

We've been together for 20 years.
Today was our 17th wedding anniversary. We've been together for 20 years and married for 17 of those years.

The picture was rather impromptu  since I remembered at the last minute that today was photo a day and we always take a picture of us on our anniversary. So no make-up or nice camera, but it works.

We had a great day today that I'll try to post pictures of a bit later. But I wanted to try doing the photo a day challenge again this month. So this killed two birds with one stone.
